LED Christmas train with Santa, a Christmas tree and gifts lit up at night

Christmas Train Decorations: A Musical Train Indoors and an LED Train Outdoors

A Christmas train comes in two forms: a small battery-powered train that runs on tracks through a Christmas village or around the tree, and a large LED train motif that lights up a fence, wall or lawn. The indoor train is about movement and music, while the outdoor train is made to be seen from the street.

The musical Christmas train for the village and the tree

Our musical Christmas train measures 51.5 × 12 × 20 cm and runs on its own tracks. Santa rides along with wrapped gifts and a nutcracker that turns as the train moves. LED lights pick out the details, and the train plays Christmas melodies along the way.

  • Power: 3 AA batteries (not included), so no cable is needed.
  • Timer function, so the train switches off by itself.
  • Works on its own as a centrepiece or as part of a Christmas village.

Where to place the indoor train

The classic place is around the base of the Christmas tree. Lay the track on a flat, stable surface and keep the gifts outside the track so they do not block the train. The train also fits on a sideboard or a wide windowsill, where it can run through the houses of a Christmas village.

LED Christmas trains for the garden

Outdoors, the train becomes a light motif on an aluminium frame. We have two sizes:

Both come with a detachable black power cord of 3 metres.

How to choose the right size

Measure the space before you choose. A train of 2.6 metres needs a free stretch of fence, wall or lawn that is at least as wide. Place it where it faces the street, for example along a fence or on a garage wall. The smaller locomotive fits by the front door or on a balcony railing.

Combine the train with other LED figures

The outdoor trains can be connected with other LED figures using a T-connector and a connector cable for each figure. The rule is simple: the connected figures must not exceed 130 W in total. Santa's Train (82 W) and a God Jul LED sign (20 W) add up to 102 W, so they can run from one socket. You will find the maximum wattage in the technical description of each product.
