When do you switch your Christmas lights on outside?
For Christmas light enthusiasts, there is almost never enough. We are always looking for more elements to spread even more joy of light in the neighborhood. Some people really go 'all in' with Christmas lights outside, while others prefer more discreet outdoor Christmas lighting. No matter which style you prefer you have to ask yourself - when is it okay to switch on the Christmas lights?
Study among enthusiasts
In the Facebook group 'We who love Christmas lights', a survey was carried out among the members in autumn 2021. There, 67% answered that they turned the Christmas lights on 1st og December. 33% answered that they switched on the lights for their decorations in mid-November. No other response alternatives were preferred.
Never too early?
If you think mid-November is too early for Christmas lights outdoors, you can of course consider a gentler start to the lights and stay away from LED Christmas motifs for a few weeks. A soft start can then be winter lights with warm white strings of lights and icicles outside. Regardless of when you choose to switch on your outdoor Christmas lights, one thing is certain: You are helping to create a magical holiday for many people. Keep up the good work with your outdoor Christmas lighting.
